Finish Carpentry
The details that make a room feel finished: trim and crown molding, custom built-ins, wainscoting, mantels, stair parts, and interior doors. Careful measuring, tight joints, clean lines.
Mini Skid & Land Clearing
We run a Kubota SCL 1000 mini skid with forks, bucket, grapple, and auger, plus a dump trailer for haul-off. Brush and lot clearing, stump removal, grading, gravel spreading, and post holes for fences and deck footings — and it fits through most standard gates.
Basements
Turn unused space into living space. We handle basement finishing and remodeling from framing and drywall through flooring and trim, including basement bathrooms — a comfortable, finished result you'll actually use.

Calvert Specialty Contracting LLC is a licensed and insured general contractor, locally owned and operated in Northern Calvert County, Maryland. We hold Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) License #90869 and bring more than 20 years of construction and contracting experience to every job.
We build and rebuild decks, do finish carpentry from trim to custom built-ins, run mini skid and land clearing work with our own Kubota SCL 1000 and dump trailer, and finish basements for property owners across Southern Maryland and the DC Metro area. We've built our reputation on honest work, clear communication, and craftsmanship that holds up. What services do you offer?
Four main services: decks (new builds, rebuilds, and repairs), finish carpentry, mini skid and land clearing, and basement finishing. General home repairs — drywall, doors, trim, and rot repair — are also available on request.
What equipment do you use for land clearing?
We own a Kubota SCL 1000 compact track loader running pallet forks, a smooth bucket, a grapple, and an auger head with an 8-inch post bit and a 24-inch tree bit, plus a dump trailer for haul-off. Because it's a mini skid, it fits through most standard gates and can work in tight backyards where full-size equipment can't reach. When a job calls for something we don't own — a stump grinder, for example — we rent the right machine for it.
Can you dig post holes or deck footings?
Yes. Our auger takes an 8-inch post bit for fence posts, deck footings, and mailbox or sign posts, and a 24-inch tree bit for planting trees and large shrubs.
Do you take small jobs, or only large projects?
Both. We take on small repairs as well as full remodels, and you work directly with the people doing the work rather than a subcontracted crew.
